Birthday Cakes of October

So my nephew and niece had their birthdays last month but we are celebrating tonight! :D

Here are the cakes!

Three year old Autumn's Hello Kitty:

The cake is strawberry lemonade. I used a rectangle glass pan and just cut out the round shape of her head, then with the corners left over I made the ears and bow.

The eyes are special dark chocolate melted down, shaped then frozen to save the shape. :) The whiskers are straws covered in the same chocolate as the eyes. :)

For frosting it's a light vanilla spread. I made some frosting from my head then added a container of Coolwhip. It just just made it light and fluffy-ish.

The bow and nose used simply the same frosting, just colored with red foodcoloring. :)

Thirteen year old Isaac's Prowling Gator:

I wasn't sure what to make for Isaac, him being a teenager now and all. I thought of a guitar maybe, but to be honest, the idea of all that complecatedness scared me!! 0__o

So then I remembered how he's a huge fan of the Florida Gators so LIGHTBULB! I didn't really think I'd do a Gators cake but I thought I'd just browse online to see what they had out there. I found a really cute website with a bunch of cakes people had shared and I looked through. It was nice. But mom's the one who thought this idea was a good one.

Now the original was a cartoon gator. We went for a more realistic touch though.

The cupcakes are chocolate, and the frosting is Hello Kitty's leftovers glorified and colored.

You may have to use your imagination to see this so I've put an actual picture of a gator in the water so you can maybe relate the two better.

Behold, real gator.

This jokers got some CREEEEPY eyes. 0__o

Behold, cupcake version.

See?
blue cupcake = water
green cupcake = gator
It's got eyes and nostrils too...
See it?
No? Maybe?
LOOK HARDER!

Looking Back

Well, as I'm sure y'all know, I've got the most adorable pup in the history of mankind. He won't be a pup for much longer cause in about a month he will be having his first birthday! :D

I was looking over photo's I've taken since he first came home with me and wanted to share with you his adorableness. I say I want to "share" with y'all but to be honest? I might just maybe want to "show off" his adorableness. Hehehe! So...

Here we go!!!

Trapper's first things

This is him now! :D
Still adorable,

still the best Trapper Boone in the whole wide world!

Becca

Have you ever met someone, and just a few hours later you feel like you've known them since forever?

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of her but I want to just tell you about her a bit. I miss her so much sometimes it makes my heart ache. Literally.

Rebecca Peris is an amazing, sweet, beautiful young lady that I love with all my heart. I had so much fun with her this past summer. So many wonderful memories I can look back on and smile.

She would come over randomly during the day and sit in the recliner while I sewed curtains for the cabin. Or she'd walk with me down by the little creek to find berries.

We used to run as fast as we could up the hill in the front field at camp and then at the top we'd try to get as many wild cherries as we could from the cherry trees. They were so tall and many times we only got a few. :)

One Sunday, we went to the field and just laid down in the grass. Not saying a word, just that comfortable friendly silence. She's played with some grass and I drifted off into a quick catnap. I remember hearing birds and a bee. The sun was warm and I can still feel the feeling of it's warmth spreading over me.

I remember laughing with her about the silliest things and we would constantly sing. Doing dishes, cutting fruit, traying rolls. Sing, sing, sing. The warm dish water all soapy, and I'd wash while she rinsed and sanitized. We would sing song after song. Harmonizing.

I remember playing the old piano in the dining hall. Wearing our work uniforms and aprons. Killing time while we waited for serving time to come, or maybe after we were all done with dinner and clean up. I'd play and she'd pull up a chair beside me and we'd sing together.

Sometime's we sing those same songs here in church and I get so lonesome for her I feel like my throat is caught in my throat and I can't make a noise. I close my eyes and see us there at that old piano singing and trying to remember the words. Then laughing about it.

She's amazing and I miss her very much. But I thank the Lord for putting her in my life and blessing me with yet another friend...or should I say sister.

Memories

So I was thinking today about my summer and all the wonderful times I shared with some of the people I love. There are so many to recall but right now, I feel like sharing the funny ones.

Like Charity Caldwell and I had some pretty wild times. One night while running the snack shack, I kid asked for a Red Monster drink. Haha, I went to grab it out of the fridge but dropped it. It cracked open or something and next thing we know Red Monster is spewing EVERYWHERE! Hahaha, Charity and I started laughing and while she got the guy his drink, I hurried to take the busted pop to the sink and clean up the mess. The accident that night led to an amazing discovery. For Charity created a Red Monster Frappe. And I must admit, it was delish!! :D

Then there was the night we (Charity C., Charity W. and I) convinced Sis. Calista to sleep out under the stars with us.
Bro. Derek had just found fresh bear droppings in the very field we were planning to camp out in and so we wanted to have some fun. We decided to fake a bear in the middle of the night. Charity C. and I stayed up til the others fell asleep then we snuck off and shook the bushes and made noises. Sis. Calista NOR Charity W. were waking up and so while I hid and tried to not shriek with laughter, Charity C. snuck over to Charity W. and woke her up. Then we tried again.

This time Sis. Calista woke up and Charity W. (playing along) ran and climbed a tree. Hilarious I tell you, hilarious. We ALL had a good laugh about it and then slept out under the stars. It was so beautiful.

Then there were the multiple kitchen pranks. My favorite was the thickener. There was this stuff called "Thick & Easy" and it thickened anything, cold or hot. So Charity C. and I initiated each person who came to help in the kitchen. It was SO thoughtful of us right? Asking whoever the unfortunate soul was, if we could get them a drink. Oh, so thoughtful. :p

So we would get them a drink and add in our little prank and they'd take a big drink and BLECK! THICK WATER?? How is that even possible...? With Elena and Charity....? Of course. ;)

"The Charitys" and I did many pranks and had an amazing times together. I really enjoyed EVERY moment with them. Working, playing, it was all amazing. They're both sweethearts. :)

----------------------------------------------------------

Another one of my funny memories would be at the Frey's. I spent alot of my time there and let me just say. They're amazing. We did so many fun things together! :D There were walks down by the pier and fishing trips. HAHAHA! Fishing...oh goodness. An epic story right there. And actually, my favorite memory.

One evening, Charity C. was staying over with me and Nicole. The whole family went down to the Blaine Pier. We met up with Kayla and her mom and Megga. (Also I got to meet some old friends of my moms)

Well, the boys headed down to the dock to fish, while us girls took pictures by the water and stood on the fountain singing three part harmony. SO FUN! After we had finished acting like weirdos, we decided to go down and see if the boys were having any luck with the fish.

Jonathan had caught this adorable fat faced fish and it took me a few seconds til I realized he has SNABBED THE POOR LITTLE THING THROUGH THE HEAD WITH A KNIFE??? NO! Yes, I'm afraid Jonathan has no heart. He's mean, cruel and....ok. I'm joking, he's not. :p But still, I was quite offended at such...brutality. However it didn't last long, cause soon I was asking if I could put it on the hook. (he was gonna use it for shark bait)

Gross. The little thing was smelly and slimey. But worse? Even though it was dead it still wiggled and....bleh! *shiver* I did manage to get it hooked though and then Charity and I asked if we could cast it out. Jonathan wasnt impressed and I think we may have even annoyed him a bit but he let us so I cast out. Like two feet ABOVE the water. Embarrassing BUT! Let me explain this rod.

It was really funky and had to be handled all special. So for me, who can hardly cast out a low maintenance Disney rod, this was a very difficult feat. And I utterly failed. :p

Charity on the other hand did AMAZING! I was really impressed. But of course it wasn't good enough for Jonathan so he reeled it in and cast him self...in the exact place Charity had just cast out to. Foolishness. So of course we got defensive and demanded another try. So there Charity goes. Perfect form, I was expecting another amazing cast. She casts but nothings happens. :O Whats going on?

BAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! She messed up and the line cast behind her and got tangled in some big black man's fishing pole. Like...MAJORLY tangled. It was sooooo funny! But I think she was scared of him. Cause while Jonathan assisted the man in untangling the line she kept apologizing profusely but the guy just grunted each time. I was trying not to laugh and everyone there with us watched and yeah. It was a big scene. NO fish that night but I did see a seal and THAT was soooo exciting. :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I spent some time at the Grunurt's as well. This story is funny AND scarey! Cause all I really remember is Tiff and I in Mel's room talking. She leaves for the bathroom and I drift off to sleep. Next thing I know she's back in the room telling me there a huge spider. Of course, since I'm TERRIFIED of any spider (big, small, thin, fat, short, tall...ALL!) and I'm still half asleep I jump up out of bed and scream. Uhm, folks. This is like at 3am. Yeeeah....not cool. But I thought she meant there was a spider in the bed or something. Hilarious, AFTER she explained it was in the BATHROOM and she'd killed it then thrown a towel on it. :p Oh, good times. :)

There were also late night swims and Scattagories. :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

There's SO much more to tell, and Lord willing one day I can share it all with y'all but for now, I want to post some pictures. :) So that'd all for now.
