Oregon Bound

Oregon.

It's wonderful place. A stunning Mount Hood, a beautiful coast.

Everything is green and in the spring everywhere you look are flowers!
Daffodils, tupils, so many others. They make the air smell sweet fresh and flowery.

In the summer, the weather is divine and the berries are ripe for picking.
The sun shines bright and cheerful, but just enough to warm your skin.

In the winter is cold and rainy. Some people may not like it but I always did.
I would bundle up and go out into the field behind our house and play with my dog for hours.
It was great fun even though I was cold most times.

I leave for Oregon in two days!! I'm really excited cause I always like getting to visit.
Visiting the old places I went to when I was little, remembering old times.
I had planned to go for a little over a month,
but some things changed and I'll only be gone less than two weeks.
For all my buddies here, I'm sure you're happy! ;)
To Naomi, I'm sorry but dont worry!!
While I'm there we will spend LOTS of time togther.

Anyways, just an update on what's going on in my life.
I will try and update regularly on my trip, so stay tuned. ;)
Until next post, farewell.

It Must've Been Angels

Behold, I give unto you power to
tread on serpents and scorpians,
and over all the power of the enemy:
and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke 10:19

My mom's pretty brave if you ask me, cause if I had had the same experience she had this afternoon - I would have fainted dead....and I'm not even joking.

Our new house has been great, its beautiful and nice to be away from the business of town. We enjoy the nature and wildlife that surrounds us. Bob White Quail, various songbirds, pretty yellow flowers that grow by the road and even owls at one point! It's all interesting but there are a few creatures that lurk about and we were not prepared to face. Up close and personal.

I was in the kitchen, rummaging up something to eat. Trapper was beside me listening to my chatter as I told him a bunch of random stuff....ok actually he was prolly just hoping for a handout! ;)
So mom was in the back yard repotting some plants, and all of a sudden I heard a yell. I ran to go out the garage door and see what had happened but it was shut, so my next plan was to run out the back door. I could still hear yells and was really worried but as I went to the back door I could hear wild pounding on the front door! I ran and opened it up to find my mom hysterical. She ran inside and locked the door behind her gasping over and over, "Oh!! It was huge, it was huge!! Oh, oh, oh!" I was really curious what on earth she had seen!! Then in little bits and pieces it came out.

She'd been minding her own business and out of the corner of her eye she saw something slithering through the grass. At first she figured it was a Black Racer but with a second glance she realized it wasn't. No, rather it was a HUGE Eastern Diamond Back Rattler! She says he was about 6 feet long and less than three feet away from her. Of course she was terrified and jumped up. He took this as a threat and coiled. She said he raised up and set his rattlers going... *shiver* She screamed and ran, terrified that I would run out the back door to find her and run into the snake myself. Thank God I didn't cause like I said earlier....I would have fainted dead.

We are all thankful the Lord kept mom safe. Mom said maybe her angel was standing there keeping the monster from striking. I say, "No doubt."

Randomness

A good friend of mine sweetly asked me to make a new post so I, being the amazing friend I am, have decided to write a little bit about what's been up with me lately.

Well, I guess the most memorable would be my trip to Louisiana for Spring Camp! It was seriously the best camp I've ever been to!! Amazing bus ride, amazing time with friends, and AWESOME services.

I spent a lot of time with a beautiful young lady whom we all know as Jessie! Let me tell y'all she's amazing. She's fun, thoughtful, sweet. She makes me laugh and feel really happy inside - just being around her. I haven't seen her in a while since I've been sick and missed several services but I really really miss her!! I am so thankful to have such a wonderful friend like Jessie Owen. <3

Pictures of Our New Place!

Well, folks! Here are the pictures I promised a while back of our new place. :) I did a lot of cleaning today and thought it'd be the perfect time to snap some shots while everything looks so spiffy. Hope you like! :D

Not exactly the best lighting but good enough to see the front of the place! Pink. Not a fan of the color but this house pulls it off beautifully.

Here's the lovely view from our front drive. :)

Shall we go inside...?

Opening the door, this is the first glance. Again the lighting was horrible, but I figured I should post this so you can get an idea of where stuff is compared. :)

The entryway is decorated with a few of moms treasured baskets. This picture was taken from the front door.

And so the entryway looks into the dining room. :)

One more veiw - from the kitchen.

So then from the dining room into the kitchen - my favorite room in the entire house! This kitchen is AMAZING! I love cooking and baking here.

Ok, so joined with the kitchen is our little casual dining room, this is where we usually eat dinner. :)

It's screaming for a different table cloth but oh well, I already took the picture. :p

From this little dining room place we go to the "formal" sitting room.

This is the view from the "big" dining room.

From the fire place looking back at the kitchen. :)

So, that's all for now. Next time will be bedrooms, bathrooms and our less formal living room! :)

From the first hello we clicked...

I remember our first greeting and smile - I think I startled her a bit with a hug right away but hey, that's just me.

She was tall and pretty wearing a jeans skirt and a red tshirt with an American flag on the front.

I don't remember every single detail, just a few. But I do know that that moment, in the Summer of 2011, was only the beginning of a wonderful friendship with a wonderful person.

Nicole Christine Frey is one of the most amazing people I know. She's beautiful, funny, sweet, loving. I have countless memories that I can recall of her. Most of them make me laugh out loud each time.

Nicole and I have never had a fight that I can recall. Ok yeah, so there was that one time when we fought over whether her outfit looked good or not. We were home alone and made a huge dramatic deal out of it for no reason. I remember laying on her bed dying of laughter afterwards.

I remember visiting Gramma Williams in Summer 2012, we had a blast. Eating gummy butterflies, and drinking chocolate milk in pretty glass goblets. Swimming in the lake, screaming like a buncha girls.....*cough* Well, we are girls.

We made a coconut cream pie while we were there and had to whip the cream by hand. I convinced her to let us use Gramma's old fashioned hand beater over the electric one. Worst idea....EVER!

We both just about died before the cream was even fully whipped. But we laughed and made it through. That pie looked amazing and we were SO excited until we heard all her brothers were coming over too!

No. No. No. We pouted and hid our chocolate milk. We didn't want to share our girl time with four rambunctious hooligans!!

We went down to the lake to swim one afternoon and took a video of ourselves as we walked, mumbling about The Party Pooping Brothers who were soon to arrive.

Hmm, it was SO fitting for me to almost step in dog poo as we grumbled. We lost it. Snorting and laughing. Oh goodness. We got laughs out of that weeks down the road.

When the boys came it wasn't TOO bad. We ate most of the pie while the boys swam so we wouldn't have to share much. Sis Kim called us oinkers and it's true, we should have been more generous to The Party Pooping Brothers.

I have thousand of more memories. Watching the Sound of Music, eating candy and blue icecream. Devouring a whole bag of chips. Yard work together. Cooking. Late nights up talking and laughing. Jonathan and her dad overhearing us. Getting embarrassed. Laughing some more. Sleeping in the trailer, creepy dogs howling in the middle of the night. Swimming in the icy creek, picture posing at Blaine Water Front Park, football games with the boys, berry picking. Fair rides, sleep overs at the Hayes. Bonfires in the front yard til after midnight.

I could write a whole book of my memories with Nicole. And maybe I will one day I will, for us to look back and read when we are old and grey. Each moment spent together has been amazing.

I can honestly say that over the past two years since that first hello, we have only gotten closer. I thank the Lord for giving me such a wonderful friend. I am truly blessed.

I love you Nicole! So very very much! <3

I Am Alive!!

Yes, I know. It's been ages since I've posted and I'm sure some of you may have taken me for dead! BUT!! Never fear, for I am still alive and well. Very well actually.

We have moved from Sarasota down South to the little town of North Port. Our new house is beeeautiful and I shall post pictures soon.

For now though, I'll post a few randoms:

I love baking. Like seriously. Cooking, baking, anything where I can make something yummy AND creative. Here's the cookies I made for Thanksgiving. Eggnog cookies and icing, then drawn templates from parment pper. Lets just say there so few of them because ach one was cut with a small knife. Haha!

We didn't have any platters fitting for the occasion, so I took an old metal baking sheet and wrapped it in wrapping paper...it worked quite well. :)

(Leaves, Pilgrim Hats, Turkeys, Acorns, and Pumpkins)

Last week I went and stayed with my friend Hannah. Oh my. I had so much fun with her and her sisters. The Doucette's are an amazing family!!

(Love you, Han! <3)
