5.4.13 (Pt1)

Saturday morning we headed over to my friend Naomi's house so she could join us for a day full of fun!

On the way there we listened to music and enjoyed the beautiful day.

This pretty little arrangment was by the door of the Arvidson's front door, so pretty.

We loaded into the car and set off for our first fun stop of the day!

Salem's Riverfront Carousel

This place is very special to me. When I was little, the carousel was just beginning and
Mom and I could go to the mall to watch carvers turn blocks of wood into beautiful horses.
It's such a charming beautiful place now, I just love it.

This is Big Sky, my very favorite. <3

Of course we couln't go and not ride one or two times, right?

Outside of the caroucel is a beautiful park right on the riverfront.
We had lots of fun playing around and snapping photos.

And that ends part one! Saturday was sooo full I can't fit everything in just one post.
Stay tuned!!

5.3.13

Mom and I were both super tired from flying all the previous day, but that didn't stop us from shopping for some groceries and having dinner out with Grandma Eileen at our favorite seafood place, McGrath's.

I took a walk in the afternoon. It was a perfect day and everything was so beautiful. I was stopping constantly to snap pictures of everything.

This is the front of Grandma's house.

The Dogwood in the front yard was full of lovely pink blooms.

There's a little park up the road with a playground and a beautiful trail through the woods.
The trees were so green and the sun was shining down through the leaves.
It smelled of amazing fir trees and grass - I just drank it all in.

That night, my little cousin Brook came over and stayed the night. To describe Brook in two words:

                                                    Totes Adorbs.

Her mom Tiffany is amazing!
She and Mom swapped stories about some pretty epic past experiences.
We all had good laughs. It was great fun!

I read some books to Brooke before bedtime.
She helped me where she could and it was so fun.

5.2.13

Wow, I had planned on blogging each day but due to lack of internet, I haven't had a chance until now. So here is the first post of my trip - flying.

Our plane was scheduled to fly out at 6pm so the entire day seemed to drag before it was finally time to leave the house. The drive was fun, Dad driving and Mom hyper. She's was talking and laughing and then talking and laughing some more. Haha!

As always, we crossed the epic Skyway bridge!!

Then we finally arrived at the airport!! I snapped a few pictures driving up, then put the camera away for security and all that stuff.

We checked in, got through security and found our gate. Here's our pretty plane! :D

So, we get to out gate and after a few minutes we all boarded. Mom and I got really good seats and were just settling in when the flight attendants announced, "This flight has been delayed two hours due to weather issues in Las Vegas." .....great. Hahaha! I had just began to happily eat my sandwich and now they wanted all of us to unboard and hang out in our wing until the two hours was past.

To kill time, mom and I got gelatos.

 I spotted a Tampa Bay Rays......airplane pusher? I honestly don't know what they're called.

Waiting at our gate.

I was bored and the ceiling looked artistically cool. :)

When we boarded again, mom and I had fun messing around with the camera.

We saw the sunset and munched on our crunchy airline snacks!

We got into Vegas late but it wasn't an issue 'cause our flight there was delayed too!

It's a huge airport and we had to walk a mile practically till we reached our gate.
When we did, I noticed how cool the wing really was.
Colorful lights and cool windows - I had to snap a shot.

Then I put the camera down on my lap, turned it sideways and snapped this!

That awkward moment when the guy was LOOKING!!

I crashed when we boarded our second flight.
Mom and I got three seats to ourselves so I stretched out.
Heh, heh. It was great. We arrived in Oregon early early morning and I snapped this picture of the road before I zonked out.

I feel like this post was really distracted sounding, haha!
My apologies, I'm super tired. :p I'll post more soon.

Oregon Bound

Oregon.

It's wonderful place. A stunning Mount Hood, a beautiful coast.

Everything is green and in the spring everywhere you look are flowers!
Daffodils, tupils, so many others. They make the air smell sweet fresh and flowery.

In the summer, the weather is divine and the berries are ripe for picking.
The sun shines bright and cheerful, but just enough to warm your skin.

In the winter is cold and rainy. Some people may not like it but I always did.
I would bundle up and go out into the field behind our house and play with my dog for hours.
It was great fun even though I was cold most times.

I leave for Oregon in two days!! I'm really excited cause I always like getting to visit.
Visiting the old places I went to when I was little, remembering old times.
I had planned to go for a little over a month,
but some things changed and I'll only be gone less than two weeks.
For all my buddies here, I'm sure you're happy! ;)
To Naomi, I'm sorry but dont worry!!
While I'm there we will spend LOTS of time togther.

Anyways, just an update on what's going on in my life.
I will try and update regularly on my trip, so stay tuned. ;)
Until next post, farewell.

It Must've Been Angels

Behold, I give unto you power to
tread on serpents and scorpians,
and over all the power of the enemy:
and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke 10:19

My mom's pretty brave if you ask me, cause if I had had the same experience she had this afternoon - I would have fainted dead....and I'm not even joking.

Our new house has been great, its beautiful and nice to be away from the business of town. We enjoy the nature and wildlife that surrounds us. Bob White Quail, various songbirds, pretty yellow flowers that grow by the road and even owls at one point! It's all interesting but there are a few creatures that lurk about and we were not prepared to face. Up close and personal.

I was in the kitchen, rummaging up something to eat. Trapper was beside me listening to my chatter as I told him a bunch of random stuff....ok actually he was prolly just hoping for a handout! ;)
So mom was in the back yard repotting some plants, and all of a sudden I heard a yell. I ran to go out the garage door and see what had happened but it was shut, so my next plan was to run out the back door. I could still hear yells and was really worried but as I went to the back door I could hear wild pounding on the front door! I ran and opened it up to find my mom hysterical. She ran inside and locked the door behind her gasping over and over, "Oh!! It was huge, it was huge!! Oh, oh, oh!" I was really curious what on earth she had seen!! Then in little bits and pieces it came out.

She'd been minding her own business and out of the corner of her eye she saw something slithering through the grass. At first she figured it was a Black Racer but with a second glance she realized it wasn't. No, rather it was a HUGE Eastern Diamond Back Rattler! She says he was about 6 feet long and less than three feet away from her. Of course she was terrified and jumped up. He took this as a threat and coiled. She said he raised up and set his rattlers going... *shiver* She screamed and ran, terrified that I would run out the back door to find her and run into the snake myself. Thank God I didn't cause like I said earlier....I would have fainted dead.

We are all thankful the Lord kept mom safe. Mom said maybe her angel was standing there keeping the monster from striking. I say, "No doubt."

Randomness

A good friend of mine sweetly asked me to make a new post so I, being the amazing friend I am, have decided to write a little bit about what's been up with me lately.

Well, I guess the most memorable would be my trip to Louisiana for Spring Camp! It was seriously the best camp I've ever been to!! Amazing bus ride, amazing time with friends, and AWESOME services.

I spent a lot of time with a beautiful young lady whom we all know as Jessie! Let me tell y'all she's amazing. She's fun, thoughtful, sweet. She makes me laugh and feel really happy inside - just being around her. I haven't seen her in a while since I've been sick and missed several services but I really really miss her!! I am so thankful to have such a wonderful friend like Jessie Owen. <3

Pictures of Our New Place!

Well, folks! Here are the pictures I promised a while back of our new place. :) I did a lot of cleaning today and thought it'd be the perfect time to snap some shots while everything looks so spiffy. Hope you like! :D

Not exactly the best lighting but good enough to see the front of the place! Pink. Not a fan of the color but this house pulls it off beautifully.

Here's the lovely view from our front drive. :)

Shall we go inside...?

Opening the door, this is the first glance. Again the lighting was horrible, but I figured I should post this so you can get an idea of where stuff is compared. :)

The entryway is decorated with a few of moms treasured baskets. This picture was taken from the front door.

And so the entryway looks into the dining room. :)

One more veiw - from the kitchen.

So then from the dining room into the kitchen - my favorite room in the entire house! This kitchen is AMAZING! I love cooking and baking here.

Ok, so joined with the kitchen is our little casual dining room, this is where we usually eat dinner. :)

It's screaming for a different table cloth but oh well, I already took the picture. :p

From this little dining room place we go to the "formal" sitting room.

This is the view from the "big" dining room.

From the fire place looking back at the kitchen. :)

So, that's all for now. Next time will be bedrooms, bathrooms and our less formal living room! :)
